Hi Folks,

Following the Community Pulse Survey Event in Mullumbimby, please join us for a cuppa catchup and if you prefer or can only make the cuppa catchup, you're very welcome to attend and get to know our group of like-minded passionate environmentalists.

The spectacular scenery of the Northern Rivers with its precious wildlife of small mammals, reptiles, native birds and flora, must be protected from any further destruction of the environment.

But many areas of this beautiful region are under immense threat. For instance, you may be aware of a strong community of protectors in the Byron Shire who have been working tirelessly for more than 12 months to Save Wallum in Brunswick Heads. This unique habitat is home to more than 20 endangered species, including koalas and glossy black cockatoos.

As caring and concerned environmentalists in this region, we are hoping to come together again to build on the momentum for interest in our local ACF group. Come for a cuppa catch-up and meet like-minded community members.

We'd like to discuss ways to ensure climate action is a priority for all levels of our governments. Many of us who work towards environmental sustainability do it for the children, so they can enjoy the same beautiful areas we have cherished, and so they can have hope for a healthy future.

With that in mind, we are also keen to investigate launching a series of local "Wild At Art" exhibitions/competitions for children, as featured on ACF's website, building environmental awareness for young generations and connecting them with local community figures who care for their environment.

The many communities who live, work, play and create here all share a common respect for, and love of, nature. This deep connection with Nature is what makes our place so special. It’s a sanctuary for us and home to many native plants and animals, flora and fauna, including endangered species.

We’ll keep the catch up small in number so we can get to know each other while we look at opportunities to collaborate and stand up for nature. And what better spot to kick off than the Santos Organics Garden Cafe. It’s like having a cuppa at a friend’s place.

So please join us for a chilled but productive and social morning.

We really look forward to meeting you and looking at how we, as a community, can bring our different skills and passions together to make a difference for nature.

We know that people power drives the change we need to see in our communities, and this happens through many creative ways.

Warmest regards

Kasrynne
