ACF Brisbane South & Logan August Monthly Meeting

Come along and join our monthly meeting at Garden City Library at 3.30pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

ACF Brisbane South & Logan has been busy lately. We have

• Organised a Nature Challenge at Tygum Lagoon. People of all ages walked around this tranquil waterway in Logan City and answered questions about the local wildlife and plants
• Run stalls at local markets to promote ACF campaigns
• Hosted a film event to screen Cry of the Forests – a documentary about the destruction of native forests in Western Australia
• Met with local MPs to urge them to promote policies which reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
• Run conservation book chats at local libraries
• Talked to hundreds of people at the Logan Eco-Action Festival on June 4  

We are currently planning guided bushwalks with experts in nature reserves around Brisbane and Logan. We are going to Toohey Forest Park on September 3. 

The escalating climate emergency means now is to the time for you to get involved and put pressure on our elected representatives to phase out fossil fuels and transition to a green economy.
