A Real Deal for Gladstone Community Forum

You're invited to Ward’s Brewery for an important community forum with Gladstone Mayor Matt Burnett.

Over the past 18 months, ACF and allies have had over 300 conversations to learn what our community wants from the new renewable-powered industry.

We’ve spoken with local people, unions, faith groups and community organisations about all the ways we can make our future stronger, from housing security to greater healthcare access.

Now we’re ready and excited to present the results to you and Gladstone’s Mayor. Come along to the Ward’s Brewery to hear about our community’s shared vision for the future – and how we can advocate for it!

To advocate for the future we want, we need the support of the Mayor and Gladstone Regional Council. Having a strong, diverse showing of people at this event, will help convince him to come on board.

This is also a social night, you can order food and drink from the bar, with free snacks provided from 5.45pm (RSVP so we can ensure there is enough food).

I’ll be co-chairing the event. Together we’ll:

• Run through the findings of our 300+ community conversations
• Have chats in small groups to digest and discuss the findings
• And be joined by community members who will share their personal stories

The transition to a renewable-powered local economy gives us the opportunity to reshape our town. It’s critical that we seize this chance and chart a course away from an economic boom-bust cycle, to create a stronger future for our community.
